Grant Proposal Nottingham

For consideration of the Ghost Island and applicable City councils and the Commisioner of the Ghost Island Office of Public Works a proposal for access to the Ghost Island Cultural Works Fund. This Proposal is #03112009A

Firebreak No. 2

Firebreak No. 2

For the consideration of the Council, a proposed experiment in the form of rigorous steps of a process:

Source data: A set of information, such as that from the Ghost Island Supercluster, for instance an image.

Step 1: The computer takes the source data and puts it into a format that I can understand – an image displayed on a computer screen.

Step 2: I take that formatted information and put it into a new format that I can manipulate – a manual transcription of the image onto a piece of paper.

Step 3: I manipulate the the information with a natural process – such as washing water over the paper, or I erase it, or I flip coins which code to an operation on some certain parts of the paper.

Step 4: I do the reverse of Step 2 and manually re-interpret the information on the paper back into an image on the computer.

Output: A new set of data that originated in the Supercluster and that was manipulated in the real world and returned to the Supercluster in the original formatting.

I am asking for a grant of Bones50,000 to complete this proposal and present it to the public at the Ghost Island Natural History Museum.

We regret to inform you that due to the overwhelming nature of the global economic catastrophe, no grants will be awarded for anything until further notice. This refusal of funds is in no way a reflection of the merits of your proposal. Our endowment has been crippled and possibly fatally wounded. We do hope that once things settle a bit in the market, we may be able to begin granting once again. Please apply again at such a time
